COPPER IS CHILE’S MAIN EXPORT PRODUCT

While copper is a non-renewable resource, the future of Chilean mining and its position at the global level is auspicious thanks to the long-term plans of the main public and private mining firms to increase their production.

In 2016, providers of mining goods and services exported $471 million. This figure corresponds to total shipments by 445 firms to 79 markets and represents 0.81% of total exports and 1.61% of mining exports.

Thanks to its experience and global leadership as a mining producer, Chile is an internationally valued and renowned player. As a result, we have a highly specialized and experienced network of providers. Chile’s diverse offering of high-quality goods and services stands out for its competitiveness and covers the entire mining process, from exploration to site closure.

The subsectors identified as most attractive for international demand are software, grinding and plant equipment, pumps and tubing, technical consumables, replacement parts, parts and pieces as well as research, consulting and projects. In regard to lines of work, the program includes participation in fairs and fora, mining planning and hiring mining agents in each of the target markets.
