VISIT US IN HALL 4 BOOTH 4E01
Chile will be present at Foodex Japan 2017 with a 72-square meter pavilion, represented by seven companies that supply a range of products including walnuts, wine and olive oil.
This year will also mark 120 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries, which are united by a range of factors. Both are countries of contrasts. While Chile is not geographically an island, it is a phytosanitary one, surrounded by natural barriers that protect our food from pests and diseases. Chile, like Japan, is a country that cares for its identity and geographical diversity and is proud of its original peoples. The quality of the food produced by its people and the serious attitude of its businesspeople have enabled Chile to position itself among the world’s foremost suppliers and exporters.

Foods from Chile, Source of Life
Chile’s geography, climate and people give it a unique character and provide it with incomparable conditions for producing food whose quality and attributes are appreciated around the world.
Chile has the most transparent skies on Earth and possesses some of the world’s most significant freshwater reserves. Natural barriers at all four compass points protect Chile, converting it into a true phytosanitary island, thereby reducing the incidence of pests and diseases.
As it is such a long, thin country, Chile has an unusually varied range of climate types. One that particularly stands out is the Mediterranean climate, which has enabled Chile to become a major food producer.
