Amsterdam, November 20, 2017.- At a ceremony held in the main hall at the most important wine expo in Holland, ProChile received the “Voice of Wine 2017” award, which the WBWE gives each year to leaders in wine promotion at the international level.

The award was given to ProChile for its sustained effort to position Chilean wine in international markets as well as its marketing and publicity campaigns. The agency also was recognized for increasing the quality and diversity of its wines around the world and for making this product one of the flagships of Chilean foreign trade.

“We are very pleased to have received this award, which recognizes the work that we have been doing since ProChile was created. We have worked with the private sector to develop various campaigns and specific marketing promotion activities for the natural ambassador of Chilean products in the world. This award will give us new impetus to continue doing this work,” noted ProChile Director Alejandro Buvinic.

Chile is currently the world’s fourth greatest wine exporter with exports in excess of US$1.8 billion. Some of its success is due to promotional efforts through varied programs and tools with campaigns on every continent and the ongoing public/private sector work with the various associations that represent wine in Chile.

“This leadership reflects the merit of our producers as well as this institution, which has spent years promoting the products and placing them in new markets,” noted ProChile’s Director.

The award was created by the World Bulk Wine Exhibition in order to recognize and reward individuals or groups who have stood out for their defense of the values of wine and that work on behalf of this sector, which is important for economic, cultural and social reasons.

In the award’s seven year history, recipients have included Wines of Moldova (2016), Wines of South Africa (2017),  Argentina’s Winemaking Corporation (2013) and the International Organization of Vineyards and Wine (OIV, 2011).
