Foods from Chile, Source of life: The new campaign to promote Chilean food products
This campaign was set up late last year after the Agriculture Ministry formed the Public-Private Food Exporter Council to address the challenges faced by the industry. One of the agreements reached was the creation of this brand. The Council voted unanimously to accept ProChile’s proposal to develop the campaign.
The initiative seeks to bring Chilean food products closer to the local cuisine in each of the countries where Chile carries out activities. It also aims to reach the producers and small-scale family farmers who produce the Chilean food products that are appreciated and enjoyed around the world.
The campaign, which was launched in July, is being applied to all food promotion activities developed around the world through ProChile and sectorial brands from this industry.
Why are Chilean foods considered an authentic source of life?
The answer to this question brings us to the origin of the country’s food production and to its unique natural and human conditions. Chile has the clearest skies in the world, as well as major reserves of fresh water. The country also has singular geographic and climatic characteristics that make it a true island from a phytosanitary perspective.
The desert in the north, the Andes Mountains, the Pacific Ocean and the Antarctic ice fields are natural barriers that isolate food production from sanitary risks. The weather conditions are also impressive: different climate types from the extreme north to the far south, spread across its valleys, forests, prairies, mountains and coasts, being the Mediterranean climate the most important for food production.
Another great characteristic of Chile is its people, who represent the ancestral wisdom of its indigenous communities. Over the course of the centuries, love for the land and its products has been combined with new production processes, technology and innovative trends.
The result is food products that are chosen and appreciated every day by consumers on all five continents because of their condition as a source of life and their main attributes.
