Foods from Chile takes people by surprise in Brussels and Sao Paulo with virtual reality
A salmon producer, its processes, cultivation and processing of salmon, all in 360°: this is how Foods from Chile’s new promotional tool was launched. The olive oil and wine industries were also featured.
“We wanted to launch this tool at these events, because Seafood Expo Global is one of the world’s most important seafood fairs and APAS is the most important food fair in Latin America. It was a great success. Everyone came to see our special virtual reality space. And you really do feel as though you are getting to know Chile”, emphasized Jennyfer Salvo, ProChile’s Assistant Director of Marketing, Communications and Brands.
At Seafood Expo Global, visitors to the pavilion were able to see up close what salmon production is like, how the pens are distributed and how this product is processed. Salmon is one of the world’s most consumed products and Chile is the second biggest producer in the world after Norway.
At APAS, people were able to watch in augmented reality the production of extra virgin olive oil, a process that must be completed within just 24 hours. Visitors were also able to get to know Chile’s wineries and watch the harvest and the process of making Chilean wine.
This initiative is designed to bring Chile and its food products closer to consumers, importers and opinion leaders. Images of fields under cultivation and the production processes of the agroindustry, honey, dried and dehydrated fruits and other industries will also be available in virtual reality.
This tool will be used again at Sial 2016 in Paris, France this October and at Chile Week in China in August and Chile Week in the United States in October.
