Canada’s Mining Suppliers Trade Association (MSTA) Annual Forum, “Mining of the Future Now,” focused on innovation.

Speakers at the event included high-ranking representatives from firms such as Barrick, Microsoft and Nissan, and the discussion topics centered on new trends in the demand for mining firms and remote and autonomous mining.

Esta es la tercera vez que Chile participa de este prestigioso encuentro que organiza la MSTA, asociación formada por cerca de 300 empresas canadienses que abastecen a todo el espectro de la industria minera, incluyendo la exploración, desarrollo de la mina, minería, procesamiento de minerales, vigilancia ambiental, fundición y refinación.

This is the third time that Chile has participated in this prestigious meeting, which is organized by MSTA, an association of nearly 300 Canadian companies that provide products for the entire mining industry spectrum, including exploration, mine development, mining, mineral processing, environmental surveillance, smelting and refining.

“Canada is a key market for the development of Chilean mining, particularly for our goods and service providers. An example of this importance is the presence of this large delegation and our upcoming participation in PDAC here in Toronto for the first time. This is the eighth consecutive year that Chile will be attending this event, which is one of the most important for this sector at the global level,” stated ProChile Trade Attaché Fernando Acuña.

In regard to the Chilean firms that will have a presence at the forum, Acuña highlighted the level of the delegation. “This group represents how developed our offering is, and that is one of the attributes that we want to highlight during this visit. The idea is for them to exchange experiences, explore opportunities for collaboration, learn about new applications and be able to incorporate more technology into their offerings.”

In addition to the presentations and panel discussion, the forum included visits to a metal parts factory, a research center and Niagara Falls, a tourist symbol of the province of Ontario.
